Ok, I got it

"The Flag"

Three men came marching down the street
A soldier, a sailor, and a marine
A little boy in the crowd asked his father
"Daddy, what is that thing on the stick? "
"It is the Flag, my son," the father replied
"It is the symbol of our great nation and of freedom
Freedom to practice the religion of your choice
Or to stand up and speak your mind
Freedom from fear, freedom from oppression
Freedom to live where you want to live
Freedom to be what you want to be
My grandfather died in World War II
I lost 2 uncles in Korea
And my oldest brother in Vietnam
They died for our great country and for the flag
They died so you can be free"
As the red, white, and blue banner passed
Waving proudly in the breeze
The man put his hand over his heart
And a tear ran down his cheek
The little boy looked up at his father
He smiled and grabbed his father's hand
And he understood
"America -- Love it or leave it"
